Snipwick terms of service
Effective September 17, 2026
These terms cover your use of Snipwick, a browser extension that answers, summarizes or translates the part of a web page you select. Installing or using Snipwick means you accept them. If you do not, uninstall the extension and stop using the service.
Who can use it
You need to be 13 or older. If you are under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission. You need a Google account to sign in, and you are responsible for what happens under your account.
What Snipwick does, and what it cannot promise
Answers can be wrong. Snipwick sends what you select to a large language model, and those models make confident mistakes. Every answer is a starting point to check, not a fact to rely on. Do not use Snipwick as your only source for anything that matters - schoolwork, medical, legal, financial or safety questions included.
We do not promise the service will be available without interruption, that any particular question can be answered, or that an answer will be correct, complete or suitable for your purpose.
Schoolwork and academic honesty
Your school, university or employer decides what assistance you are allowed to use, and those rules vary from one course to the next. Following them is your responsibility. Using Snipwick where it is not permitted may breach your institution's rules, and that is between you and them.
Using it fairly
Do not use Snipwick to break the law, to harass anyone, to get around a site's access controls or terms, to scrape or bulk-collect content, or to attack, overload or reverse-engineer our service. Do not share your account or resell access to it. We may rate-limit, suspend or close an account that does any of this.
Free answers, credits and plans
Snipwick is metered in answers. One answer is one call to the model: a snip costs one, expanding it into detail costs another, and a follow-up costs one. New accounts get a fixed number of free answers, once.
- Plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe and grant a set number of answers for that month.
- Monthly answers reset; they do not roll over. What a month grants expires at the end of that billing period, plus a short grace period so a renewal arriving a few minutes late does not strand you mid-question. Renewing grants a fresh allowance.
- Answer packs are a one-time purchase and never expire. They are used only once a monthly allowance is spent.
- When you are out of answers, the extension says so and stops. Nothing is charged automatically to continue.
- If a request fails on our side, the answer it reserved is returned to your balance. You are not charged for our errors.
Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax that may apply. We may change prices, and we will tell you before a change affects a renewal of yours.
Cancelling, and refunds
You can cancel a plan at any time from Manage billing in the extension, which opens Stripe's customer portal. Cancelling stops the next renewal; your answers stay available until the end of the period you have already paid for. There is no cancellation fee and no phone call.
Payments are otherwise non-refundable, except where the law requires a refund. That said, we would rather have a fair outcome than a strict one: if something went wrong, write to support@snipwick.com and tell us what happened.
Your content, and ours
What you snip stays yours. You give us permission to send it to our service providers and process it for the sole purpose of answering you, which is what the privacy policy describes in detail. You are responsible for having the right to send us what you select.
The extension, the service and the Snipwick name remain ours. These terms do not give you a licence to copy, modify or redistribute them.
Suspension and closing your account
You can stop using Snipwick at any time by uninstalling the extension, and you can ask us to delete your account by writing to support@snipwick.com. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or where we are required to. If we close your account without cause, we will refund the unused portion of a plan you have paid for.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Snipwick is provided "as is", and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data, lost profits, or for any outcome that follows from relying on an answer. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else the law does not permit us to limit.
Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, in which case they apply to you only as far as the law allows, and your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change matters - pricing, how billing works, what you are allowed to do - we will give notice by email or in the extension before it takes effect for you. Continuing to use Snipwick after that means you accept the new terms.
